oh my... ya not sure if I'm skilled enough to go down that path...

if that is what I'm looking at, I'll pay a professional to get her done.

not as bad as you may think...someone with more knowledge than I will chime in. Had some water spots on the spokes that would not come out no matter how hard I rubbed with the billet polish.....kept it wet while lightly sanding then used mothers mag polish shined right up. Try it on an inconspicuous spot first.

i found mine at a marine supply house (boater's world should have it). product called "Flitz". not sure it will get rid of the measles, but i have no complaints about it. just a little dab will go a long way. sugg. wearing gloves, fingers get really black.

what grit sandpaper or steel wool?

man o man... just when I was looking for 100 percent cotton cause "micro fiber towels cause slight scratches..." today I'm looking for sandpaper...

gotta love it!

probably should be looking at the 400/600/1000 grit wet/dry emery paper unless you have major pitting.

I guess I assumed the clutch, front brake and speedo were in chrome. Could they be in aluminum?

I feel like a dope for asking and not knowing. I didn't get any black residue on cloth when trying the s100 detail spray I bought.

Confused now...
Mine are billet. I use Mother's Billet Polish and have pretty good results. I also use simichrome. Take your time and don't rub too hard, it may take several sessions to get the billet done.

ok guys, I'm lost! i bought mothers billet polish and went to town on my wheels. below is a shot of what I have so far. this is after three applications of mothers... is there something to take this off first, then go to mothers?

reminder, the bike is a 07 and only had 37 miles so it has sat... i was told never outside but it has sat for some time....

anything little more aggressive than mothers that will take care of what looks like to be measles...;)
These will come off with the Mother's...may take a few applications. Try Simichrome it works great too.

I'm on the third application... really thinking some really fine steel wool (jewelry stuff) would help with my patience and tennis elbow forming...

any thoughts from the group on that Gord's polish or another really fine sandpaper application?

thanks in advance to all!

I used an Abranet 2500 polishing pad (like a greenie only finer) on the jugs. It does work but will leave behind micro scratches that will still need to be polished out for that chrome like shine. If you decide to go with steelwool or an abrasive pad I would try it on the underside of the triple tree first that way if you don't like the results at least its hidden.

Oh this look is only on the bullet wheels. Not looking like I have the same problem with neck or any other part of the bike ..

I would try the Mothers Billet polish with a super soft microfiber towel from Autozone. Get the yellow one and the white one with orange trim. These things are so soft and will not leave scratches. If that does not get the pit ot try some 2000 grit sandpaper with water then hit it with the aluminum polish...

The is a big difference in clouds and craters looks like you news some rubbing compound and a puffing wheel. If this doesn't work, then start in with the wallpaper, wet rub.

Use 2000 -3000 wet sand... this will realy dull the shine big time! But will remove the crap the polish over and over and over. I did this on my wheels a big labor and time consumming project

ya i was kinda worried about that one... :)

guys, i think i have found the solution

tonight i stopped by local auto zone and they had this stuff never dull magic wadding polish. it is like a fabric but soaked in solution. you tear off.

bought some home tonight, took a little with mothers billet polish... put about a 5 out of 10 cause i was concerned with scratching... WOW... i will post pics tomorrow when I can actually do a before and after but there are ZERO of the above "stains" on my wheel. I only tested about a 4 inch spot for cause of fear of scratching but early signs are,

this stuff rocks!

anyone ever hear of this stuff?

Spineguy, I think the best thing for your wheels, is let someone who is a professional have a look at them, I don't beleive you are going to get that out with the billet polish. They can buff those wheels and you will be amazed
