did you remove the starter to do this? if so I'd check all connections.. did you maybe break a wire on the contacts you cleaned? retrace your steps.. its probbly simple over sight..

Eric I left the starter in place. The wire that runs from the EHC to the starter came loose and I fixed that. I am re tracing my steps now

If you over torque the post to the solenoid or the starter it will spin inside of the housing.

If the flat of the terminal is not against the contact, it will not get enough to start.

Guessing this is the problem.

There is a bolt that holds the terminal in place, can't remember the torque spec, but when you remove the wire, you will see the locking nut.

Pull the cover and see if it got moved when you put the wire back on and tightened it up..

Okay, I am no mechanic beginner at best. I only pulled the cover of the starter cleaned the contacts and put the cover on. The wire that came loose is the wire that goes from the EHC to the starter, it connects on top of the starter. the bike just clicks does not even attempt to turn over.
Thanks

When I push down on the solenoid the bike wants to crank over as soon as I put the cover back on the bike just clicks! It does not seem to be making contact. HELP any suggestions are welcomed

maybe solenoid not lining up at the end where it sits in the cover causing it to jam up,just my 2 cents but what do i know?:)

I am calling it for today just frustrated and pissed at myself. I am going to charge the battery tomorrow while I am at work.
Tomorrow after work I am going to check all my wire connections (I left the starter in place only pulled the cover).
When I push the plunger into the starter it starts to crank so I am leaning towards the electrical or contact.
Again all ideas and help is welcome, I cant thank some of the members on this site enough for all their help in trying to resolve my problem. Thank you all!!!

The clicking sound is common with a weak battery. I will wait to hear if it starts tomorrow after charging over night.

At last he is keeping a good attitude, that is for sure.

Did you get a chance to get pictures of it?

It still sounds to me like the post spun out of position when the wire got tightened back up.

The only other thing I can think of would be if you unhooked the sitch wire that plugs into the top of the starter and did not plug that in, than you would here your compression releases click but no crank.

When battery full charge, you will no more. Frustrating but should be simple fix.

Once I get out of work I will post more. I have the battery on charge and I am leaning torwards the wire that plugs into the starter the connector was loose and when I pulled the wire out of it the connector came loose from the wire. I had modified the connection due to my scorpio alarm installation so I am going to check them with a voltmeter and see what I get.
