How about a new thread on how much of your bike you have changed to chrome , anodizing or powered coat.
I know we have a couple members here (I won't name any) that are chrome whores and there is good reason for it. I hate polishing. Was okay when I lived in Kalifornia where it only rained 6 days a year. But up here in Washington I can't keep it clean as much as I try. :eek:

My last dealer in San Diego had a chrome exchange. Their cabinet was full of goodies so when you took your bike in for service you just had the parts swapped out. Of course being military they gave me a good deal! :D

So, what have you changed/plated/coated?

for me it is as follows;

Chrome;
triple trees
frt fender bracket
speedo bucket and bracket
clutch cable clamps (on frame)
intake elbow
axle plate covers
license plate (3 piece)
shifter rod
pegs (Kuryakyn)
rear brake caliper bracket
carburator

Powdercoat;
struts (black)

Things left to do;
wheels and hubs
cam cover
lifter blocks
foot controls
hand controls

:D

you don't fuck about do you Ray - I'm definitely getting my wheels powder coated black - hopefully in January - other than that not a lot so far - the new intake is chrome, as of course, is the triple x - my mirrors are chrome as well - I also want the streetwalker RPJeez 2 into 1 - black pipes with chrome heat shields with holes

Like Dave said... I'm doing my pipes black with chrome heatshields and holes..

Lets see... I have a big order of chrome going out...

intake
rear fender struts
speedo bucket
speedo stem
custom sissy bar
front fender mounts
lower motor mount
doherty plate, cones, and spacers
lisense plate (3 pieces)
westbury gas cap
exhaust heat shields
clutch cable holders on downtubes
gas tank mounts
rear caliper bracket
passenger peg clevis

I think that's it... but maybe I'll find more when I tear the bike down. The only things I'm not doing is the wheels and controls. I'm going to Zoop the wheels, and seal the controls (foot and hand) with Wizards sealant.

For powdercoating..

re-doing the frame & swing arm
new exhaust mount
gas cap adapter

Ceramic
Exhaust

Is that all!!!

Hmm ... Good post.
I may have my heat shields done black, but nothing is writing in stone on that.
I also agree Chris's pipes will look real sweet with the black and chrome.
I like the tough look of the black pipes.
I did that before , I liked it.
But my friends liked the straight up chrome.
Too each there own.
That's why these bikes are so great, you get to express your self in there style.

To be honest I'm more worried about getting stuff engraved next year.
But I will like to see what the other members post fore sure!

That only leaves my hand & foot controls polished along with the wheels which will be zooped and never need polishing again anyway.

I decided zoop the wheels over chrome that way no worries on peeling or chipping from use or installing of tires.

Guess I should have added.... that many new parts are already chromed like...
JIMS cam cover
Accutronix tripples
coil cover
new SS teardrop

Some old parts too like the XXX carb

Plus I didn't have on there... the new upper motor mount will be chromed as well.

i dont have any more chrome than what came on the bike.....i figure the time spent cleaning and polishing chrome can be better spent riding......but that is me........chrome is pretty to look at tho.....

Here in Florida, chrome is bad! It goes to hell fast, so I am swapping my chrome parts out for polished and powdercoated stuff.

Salt tears this chrome crap up!

I agree with what you say but chrome takes a lot less polishing effort than raw polished metal

I thought about powder coating the wheels puple to match. I would leave the lip of the wheel billet. What do you guys think? I do this kinda shit all the time to cars/ suvs and it looks bad ass......just don't know about the bike.
