Checking primary and changing oil

Now remove the bolts around the primary cover and watch for any remaining oil.

Now that the cover is off you can look over the sprockets, chain, clutches, and tensioner. Made sure all nuts and bolts were tight.

Check your tensioner and make sure it is not loose or the teflon is wore out. If you have to tighten dont overtighten. Should have some deflection.

Now I checked my sprockets and the teeth for excessive ware or chips all looks good.

Now I checked the cain and it lookes good no rollers missing or anything else.

Inspect the gasket and wipe out old oil to remove shavings from cover and inner primary.

Well I think that there was three dings in it and it looked like it may have of been a crimp or something like it. If im wrong someone let me know.

Do you need to replace the primary gasket with a new one or can you reuse the old one...?

the dings are indeed crimps that hold the compensator springs in the shell.
