Checking oil level?

On the 06 mastiff do u check oil with bike straight up or on kick stand?

not sure about the Mastiff T...but on my 06-K-9, it says right on the dipstick filler cap....check on kickstand

my k9 06 doesnt have a dip stick. how do i check oil. i take cap off and see no oil. should i? also is it 20w 50?

I think Rubwhore said he uses Rotella T 15W40. You may want to do a search on that and see if anyone has a difference of opinion on what oil is best. And Yes! When you take the cap off, you should see oil.

Oil level should be about 1.5 inches below the top of the tank - check when hot. 20W-50 is correct.

Or just set the dip stick in?
There is about a 1/4 inch difference between the 2?!!!

That sounds scary. My 05 Ridge is checked kick stand up and should see oil at the bottom of the neck of the tube. I'm throwing Mobil 1 20/50 in mine tomorrow. Cycle oil of course

T...just set the dip stick in on top of the threads to check...I don't screw mine down....I asked the same question before myself
