Dont Tread On Me
A few days ago I posted this (second paragraph below), I found the problem. The wire that connects to the solenoid on top of the starter was cracked and bare. It was making contact on a bunch of wires. You better check yours. I looked at the new dogs at the dealer yesterday and they were cracked also. Stand on the right side and look between the battery cover and the belt drive. If it is cracked you will see copper wire showing through. I pulled the cracked rubber off and put two layers of shrink tube on, reinstalled the battery and walla bike started right up.

I have a 07 K9. I have it in storage for the winter in my basement. I did not have it on the trickle charger when I noticed the right turn signal reminder light on the speedo was on and the speedo needle stuck straight up. I turned on the key and nothing changed. I took off the seat and all of the lights on top of the computer were on and would not turn off unless I unhooked the battery. Once again nothing changed with the key on or off. I pulled the battery and it checked out good and fully charged. I hooked the battery back up and same thing.

The cracked rubber has been a common problem on the dogs. Its a easy fix if you notice it :D Glad you got yours up and running. :2thumbs:

I checked mine and it was JACKED! The rubber boot and all the wrap came apart in my hand. I took some dialectric grease and coated the bare cable to get the white powdery corrosion off. Then took some heat shrink and black plastic mesh wrap and re-did the entire thing. Went to a local bike shop and he had a new boot on a starter he had stored and popped it off and gave it to me. I got back to the house and put it on. Good as new. I'll take some pics in the morning.:2thumbs:
