Hi Guys.. Ive bought this 2008 Big Dog Mastiff 3 weeks ago and It was imported to Australia 7 weeks ago..
Its only done 1100 miles and completely original ..
I had it inspected for road worthy today and it was knocked back for the Brake lines.. It has Goodridge stamped on it but they want paper work proving that it was Certified for USA Standards by the Factory( Big Dog)
Is there a way to certify that this brake line was up to USA Standards.. ?
Im from South Australia ( Adelaide ) so theres no way of Certify here..

Help! :)

Yes, ive already email them, but ive heard they are new owners of Big Dog since it was shut down in 2011..
Cheers
Yea they are but he has been selling bikes oversea's and I am sure he has had to have them inspected and certified to do that so maybe he can help, just keep calling and e-mailing them, sometimes from what I hear they take a while to get back to ya, he's also a member here you could try sending him a PM.

Dream Machines in Melbourne where you bought the bike claim that when you buy a bike from them the bike can be
registered in any state in Australia so they should provide you with all the necessary certificates.

Paul.

I did ring Ross at Dream Machines and they told me that they never had that problem before.. But will look into it Tomorrow to find Certification for the brake lines.

Seems rather strange...Goodwrench is a huge company that has products all over the world.

Kevin, this sounds like they're just trying to fuck with you.... it's like, the tires say Avon...do you need a "certificate" for that too??? I don't know what it's like "down under" but maybe you can push back?

Wish I could push back.. But I'd be worse off.. Goodridge UK just sent me paper work so tomorrow I'll show the inspector if he's happy with it.. Cheers

Glad to hear you got your paperwork
Yeah, I guess I'm not thinking it through... you can't win against customs here neither. It would be like getting into a knife fight only to get cut...long, wide and frequently.
