The rubber boot that the pump rod goes through is supposed to have a hole at the top right? It does. But the sides have cracks in the bellow (accordion type boot). Would that cause fuel to leak out of the overflow? The float is at 1/8" from the top of the bowl where the gasket rides. Lowered it a little and it still leaks but not a much.

If you have trash in the bowl the needle will not seat and let it overflow...also could be a small burr or anything in the seat area that will cause it also

I checked all that and it looks fine. Ordered a kit from Dennis Kirk and tomorrow I'll be DIYing. Should be fine. Thanks for the help, Bud.

I rebuilt the accelerator pump and replaced the needle and the rubber bellow above the push rod. Then adjusted the float and the idle and it didn't leak a drop. Started it up, took it for a ride and it ran perfect. My first time fixing a Harley Fatboy. Super fast. Modified by Donnie Smith and Heavy Metal Customs. Thanks for all your help, guys.
