Yes. For a show bike, maybe. I would Polish them out instead. Why? You dip that part all naked, it sends a layer over that piston hole. Meaning, during the process at the holes, not the finished produce outside. No matter how you look at it, yeah, it will probably work with the dip. But brake parts are machined holes for proper piston clearances. Now clean them out with something?

The only way to touch that bore finish is to use anything you would wipe across your anal area, or you tear us is going to cry using anything else.

Not sure what the cost to chrome them would be...but you can buy chrome Performance Machine calipers for $450 or so. Some of our vendors might be able to hook you up. Just a thought.

You can have them chromed by any good chromer and Browns has been use by many here. You should be able to push the pistons out with air after you remove them from the bike. Check the "how tos" maybe someone has already done this.

Take off your caliper and drain as much brake fluid as you can out of it. Remove the brake pads and place a shop towel in between the pistons. Take a compressed air blow gun and shoot air in where the brake hose attached.( Go easy with the air) They will pop right out.

Excellent resource of knowledge Sven. I'd love to take a shit on your head.
1. If I stood still, your balls dangling on my nose, I'd do some florida stand my ground, slice those right off, super6. Bust my balls, fair is fair if you got the balls to take it as you shit it out. Back to another suggestion if you don't mind.

2. If I move his nuts together, one is going to move more than the other, eventually. I disagree with the air assist.

3. If you removed the pads, meaning, work them in your hands. Reinstall both pads back in again. You can hand lever push them out. However, a lagging one hits the pad last.

4. If you air blow, how can you push the other lagging pad behind? Rotate the pad, but why go thru all that air, when you can push by hand and be in more control taking off the Dev to get to the balls.

5. Kind of 666'd ya. Your post, your handle, your move, your call if you didn't think you'd get a wax job; not thinking = OP first. Excuse me now, I'd Drop a pad, let the lagger hit that next. By the time you figured out you let air in the master, you can still pump what is left and hand pull the pistons out by hand.

6. No mist eating the paint job with air assist. All that liquid is dripping down my 666.

The tech:

A. Water is heavier than oil.
B. That settles to the bottom of the quad-ring.
C. Quad means 4 sharp sides instead of an o-ring.
D. Quad is a thick fat ring and has memory to move back to its own stiff self.
E. Quad sits in white crystal crap that forms under the q-ring.
F. Quad having memory, needs to sit square in it's machined area.
G. If the white crystal builds up then displaces that machined area;
H. It cannot retract the piston. It more pushes from bottom up on the piston.
I. The pads then drag on the disc. The piston is locked and stays.
K. The remedy is to remove the crust build so the seal can remain relaxed; squared. The piston retracts, the pads float on their hangers.
J. Off, Pick up your dick :job: Go clean it out. Get all that crap out of the groove.

:hi: If your brakes drag... Remember tolerance is key. This was a zero thread no one wanted to answer. All of a sudden... :D

You can get them Chromed at Brown's Plating Paduca KY. I have the address if you need it. Tell Ronnie what you want, he does a great Job. I had both of mine done for a fraction of the cost of a new one. He does not chrome the piston holes as mentioned above he knows what to chrome and what not to chrome. :2thumbs:
