I've been hearing a ratttle on occasion finnaly got to the point i could hear it @ idel looked in v&h big radius found that my cut baffle on top pipe was broken around bolt that holds it in pipe, bolt is still in there keeping baffle from sliding out, baffle just moving around & making noise i've got another baffel yea the same from differant set of pipes will change it soon, what would cause this with only 1250 miles on them??? is this a normal thing if you cut them in half, no support on front of baffle or what ??

No its a normal thing on any V&H pipe I have ever found! EVER!! Even on my neighbors honda. His baffle on his V&H has broken twice this year. JUNK I tell ya.

Many times, you can just run a bolt and nut thru it if the hole in the baffle is still there.

My big radius bracket broke in half to boot. Those pipes are still laying in the garage floor somewhere seeing how I put the R&B Racing 2-1 pipe on..
I got a couple of cut baffles laying around too..

Years ago I had a baffle shoot out of the pipe when on the 275.
Good thing no one was around.

Is there a thread for removing baffles and cutting them down from a V&H big radius 2 into 2 exhaust pipes? I tried the search but no luck? I am sure it is simple but sometimes these easy projects can turn into a cluster fuck. Never hurts to ask before diving in sometimes.

remove the back half of the heat shield, remove the screws from the back of the pipes that hold the baffles in, remove the baffles (can be difficult), cut to a length of 4 3/4 inches with a hack saw, and re-install.

yeah I cut mine down a couple of years ago.....down to around 4 3/4 inches...now I have them welded in..being that my bolt broke on mine that holds the baffle in....no more problems as House said....

Well I cut the baffles down to a total length of 4 3/4" and did not like the sound of it. So I took the baffles out all together. It sounds great but today is too wet to test drive. Anyone have major issues with them out?

with no baffles in your pipe...you will have no back pressure.....thats why I cut mine down.....I like the sound...but to each their own....alot of people run without baffles....
