Yea...40v AC is a touch high but hardly an issue the VR SHOULD still be able to put out the 14.4v. I really doubt that's the issue.He told me that he checked the stator, and had 22v ac at idle, but when he rived it up, it went to 40v. Ever hear of anything like that.
I know when Ricks VR went out, it was putting 23v ac through out the bike and fried everything.
Now he saying it's back firing even with the VR disconnected.
If it was running before the VR swap and after...unless it was hooked up wrong I really can't imagine any further failed electrical components and not just the then ignition.
Once he confirms 14.4v or so at idle....needs to start looking at a different issue could just be bad gas, cause after the swap he rode it fine for a little while.
