elctronic problems,,,looking for help/advice. I have a 2004 bdm, 107cu.in. I have 0 power going to the controls on either side of the handle bars. Ignition key lights up the speedo and the speedo moves and returns as allways. No power on the run switch, start, blinkers, etc. Fuse is good, battery new, starter rebuilt, all grounds attatched. I have disconnected the battery and ehc and hoped for a reset but no luck. It started today and several times restarted, but again it has failed and I am dead in the water. Any suggestions?? Thanks in advance for your help and thoughts... Gerry

What ehc do you have in the bike!Is it black or yellowish in color?also take a look under your tank for any shorted wires.also when you have time please fill free to do an intro.the guys like to know alittle about who their helping.good luck hope you get it going.i would aslo say try wiggling the key but it lights up the speedo.welcome to the forum:cheers:

Well if you have not already, recommend that you check all the harness to make sure nothing is obvious that is wrong such as chaff, broken connectors, etc. If not then, get the multimeter out and start running each wiring with a good wiring diagram and see if there is unseen breaks. If not, then do the same for the control switches to see if the change status when activated from NO to NC and vise versa.

Good luck and hopefully it is something simple and easy to correct. Better to spend a little time with a good mulit-meter and make sure it is not then ehc then purchase a new ehc and still have the problem.

Oh it would be good that you get up a little intro when you get a chance and maybe do some search on the past posting for some ideas also.

as mentioned above I'd remove the fuel tank & check the harness thar runs along the backbone of the frame,, posible the plug that connects them has come lose or a corosion problem.. do a search & water proof all the connection while your there. use diealectric grease..
