good info , but on a rigid frame it doesn't matter if anyone sits on it .
also rotate the rear wheel to find the tightest spot ( all pulleys/sprockets are not perfect)
also a bit loose is better than a bit tight.

I'm trying to figure out how to get the right belt when the one the book's say has 5 inches of play! It's only supposed to have 1/4 " with the rear wheel in the air

Haha...you know for sure I’m 75 years old when I point out that is not a Big Dog.

Ya well I guess,a103,780cam and throttle by wire is more a hot rod. I got it figured anyway I have the right belt the 10 lbs for measuring the deflection is more important, you can't just push on it,in the air no weight you want 3/16 -1/4 on the ground on the jiffy stand just bike no saddle bags no rider you want 1/4 -7/16 and that's it. Theirs a formula to figure the number of teeth on the belt.
