Well I've been trying to get my bike back on the road before winter but somethings up!
I had to get my valve guides redone because I was starting to blow smoke from the pipes. The shop that fixed the head said the intake seals on my valves where SHOT! So after getting all new valve guide seals installed, I was ready to reassembled my bike. The cycle shop said that he removed my restrictor plates from the head sand not to use them....?
So after getting everything put back together I started my bike and its running really rich! So I rejetted my carb to cure this. Although I was not able to get it dialed in....
So after that I replaced the restrictor plates and tried to readjust to exactly the same setup before I tore the heads off. But I'm still not able to get everything set up right! What would be so different from having the valve guide replaced that would cause me such a hard time getting everything back running right?
Could the carb be that much off after the head work????
I'm leaving for Thunder Beach next week and my bikes DOWN!
