Sorry I've been slow to respond to emails. Been pretty busy. It wouldn't be a difficult repair, but shipping will really suck. As far as matching the color goes, you'd be better off to do a cover up. I could help you, but I'm about to go out of town for a big job, and then two bikes after that. It sounds like you want it fixed sooner rather than later. Good luck!

The only way to really fix this would be to have a professional painter (Airbrush Ed on this forum) repaint the tank.

Until then, a "bullet hole" sticker over it would mask the problem and might look kinda cool!
Any Harley dealer sells those stickers.

Nice repair job for sure, though the bullet hole idea was kinda of cool, maybe had them air brush a bullet hole in that area to remind you of some of your adventures in the lovely Middle East!!!!!

BD Bro1, No, it was not a complete repaint, just the affected area.

Fiber, actually I did think about sticking a bullet hole and clear coat on top.. but then What If it goes faded by the sun? ... so decided to leave it like it was.

I have not seen it personally yet just the pics, but yes it does look well done. I cannot tell the difference on the new vs old paint on the photos. :2thumbs:

Hey Franco, it sucks but I'm sure you can get that fixed. Unfortunately, it won't likely be cheap. Maybe you can cover some of the expenses from the money you won in the last POTM.:D Just kidding, bud. I'm certain it will all work out. Keep us posted.

I hear you but a good air brushed one would have been nice, but in the bigger scheme it is best to get it back like it was and it appears a very nice job was done.

On the bullet hole stickers, one of the funniest things I seen back in 2003 in Iraq (when everyone was still running around in soft skin vehicle) was a hummer that someone had stuck some stickers on. I gave the SSG crap and said, "Ironic that one is in a war zone and they would throw bullet stickers on the hummer" he then removed one and it was covering up an actual bullet hole-shut my ass right up!

He had to do quite a bit of testing on different yellows... it seems he did find the correct one. He assured me it cannot be noticed the difference.

I am happy :whoop:
