Maybe I am a dumb hick from Kentucky, but still confused by the whole post. BDM fixes a problem on a bike that is outside of warrenty, yet a complaint is filed to the BBB.
The same dealer was the one working on the bike the whole time and I assume in conjunction with BDM, however the dealer did the work. The owner is going through batteries and EHC and seems can not get the problem resolved.
Yet the change out the EHC to a 2009 style at BD direction, costing the owner more than the EHC for a 2005.
Now, no expert but the damn electronics are not that complicated. Granted maybe the EHC is not perfect, but I am sure that for the vast majority of owners, very little problems. Regardless I cannot for the life of me figure out why a dealer could not find the problem, not the assumption, but the true root cause of the problem.
Also why would BD not allow the owner to take it to another BD Dealer if they first was not getting it done, regardless if it was dealer of BDM cause, especially if the owner still ended up forking money over.
I am sure the owner had problems and was getting frustrated and is understandable, however still do not understand why a complaint was filed against BDM.
Also it seems that R&B has another mechanic now that works for R&B in Nashville and he seems to know his stuff, did the others not know their stuff?
I must emphasize that I feel for the owner, just do not see why the complaint against BDM.
Without knowing the facts, my tendency is to be looking very closely at the dealer and if they really was truely trobleshooting the root causes.
Glad the owner is getting it resolved and it sounds like BDM is stepping up to the plate and covering another bike that is out of warrenty to keep a happy rider, just do not understand the complaint against BDM with BBB
