I call BS.
There are only a few real manufacturers of batteries in the world. Non of them advertise a 500+CCA AGM Battery in that size. Therefore you must ask yourself, where is this coming from.
It's coming from a marketing dept that doesn't understand proper CCA testing and even likely the difference between CA and CCA.
Also for example when you have a battery load tested at a shop and are given the CCA, know that his is a ESTIMATE sionce I don't know of any ship I have ever u that is setup to properly conduct a CCA test. To do CCA test the battery is to be taken after the battery is at 0 degrees for 24hrs. Even a CA test the battery is suppose to be at 32F for 24hrs. Load testers estimate based on a math curve what it should be but there are many factors that can not be accounted for that way and I have seen more than my fair share of batteries that test ok for CCA but fail in real world.

Caveat emptor
What battery can you recommend for best starting power?

I will check out the Deka batteries.

I am looking for another battery because, the Duracell I got from Batteries Plus {mentioned in previous posts} would not crank my engine over. Just clicking sounds. Put the old battery back in and the bike started. Returned the Duracell. As it turns out It was the last battery in stock. Most likely it was a previous return.

Thanks for the (x rated) battery information. They are off my list.
Still looking for a heavy duty battery with as much power as possible. Plan on changing the battery every year. At my age pushing a bike is not kosher.

If you are riding regular and keep it on a tender, you should get @ least 2yrs out of a battery. Deka, Braille, or even a good Duracell will keep ya running.

Get a deka and a micro jump box for the tool bag. small and will jump start a v8 truck. Also get AAA Plus RV for roadside assistance/towing. No worries then (mostly).

The Deka ETX20L is what goes in these bikes. Get a Deka or a Harley Battery for a 2012 softail, which is made by Deka. Don't buy anything thing else! this is what works in a Big Dog, anything else is, well...something else and you might be sorry in the long run. This is the recommendation from many of the long time members of this forum whom I have a lot of respect for.

Actually the Deka is an ETX20L the YTX20L is a Yusua part number if I recall correctly.

I wanted absolute cranking power regardless of cost so I went with Curtis's Lithium battery at 900cca or 1,000cca? something like that. I think I could start a tank with it!!!

Lithium batteries and their technology has really come a long way recently. The batteries are becoming smarter (BMS) and consumers are getting in front of their charging systems to ensure proper range variations meet the batteries' needs. Knowing my bikes the way I do, two gauges are on my agenda as just downright necessities. Accurate amp/volt meter and oil temp/pressure as constant monitors would just eliminate the "I hope all's working" factor and make the ride that much more enjoyable. Oh, did I forget TPMS?
Almost goes without saying.
