Battery wiring

04 BDM chopper - installed a new battery. So when putting new battery I found a extra wire near negative terminal from "computer" but did not have a battery terminal connection just a wire end. Didn't install it & bike starts & runs fine. Have on trickle charger & all is well. So my question is should this wire be hooked to negative terminal??

My 04 had the same thing. I just left it alone and didn't have any problems either.

You should swap the positive side cables so that the heaviest gage wire is against the battery. You want the least amount of resistance possible and the most surface contact.
