Thanks MM, I will pass on the info to the man of the house (his bike), and let you know what happens... sounds like a plausible explanation to the problem... Let you know tonight when I get home...

Yes, battery was double checked and charged.
You may just want to try a new battery as well if everything else fails. I've had shops test batteries, alternators etc and they all came back good according to their test, but we're not.

Older batteries don't hold the same charge as newer ones but will test okay. Big Dogs require a high amperage to start.

On that note: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO JUMP START THE BIKE! EVER!

You can jump start, just don't have the vehicle running that your jumping from :yesnod:

You are correct, now I'll offend someone again because I generalize...dammit, BUT, A LOT of people assume a jump start means a running vehicle.........I need more coffee again...or Lunch......

Your EHC is failing. Does the horn stay honking only when you turn the key on? If it does then all your lights on the EHC also stay lit. Take a heat gun or blow drier & warm the EHC up for about 20 or 30 seconds & then try it. If that does it, your EHC has failed the cold test.

What does the JST connector go to that has nothing in it, its right behind the heavy ground wire?
Also the ring tongue terminal by the heavy ground cable has electrical tape on it and it looks like a red wire under the tape.:oldconfused:
I believe that empty JST is for a kick stand sensor, not seen one on a Dog though
