FYI, thought I answered the question but its not appearing in the thread... the bike is a 2006 K9, not 2016.

According to your profile you have a K9 2016, it is still under warranty and I would think the new Big Dog would take care of that for you. Did you call them?

Yes, battery was double checked and charged.

You may just want to try a new battery as well if everything else fails. I've had shops test batteries, alternators etc and they all came back good according to their test, but we're not.

Older batteries don't hold the same charge as newer ones but will test okay. Big Dogs require a high amperage to start.

I'm glad you said this. I was starting to get concerned. I hooked my K9 up to a car battery that was hooked to a maintainer. Never started either one, but was worried that I might had damaged something.

You are correct, now I'll offend someone again because I generalize...dammit, BUT, A LOT of people assume a jump start means a running vehicle.........I need more coffee again...or Lunch......

Take the positive and negative wires loose from the battery, that go to the EHC, and hold them together for a few seconds. This will reset the EHC.

Your control may have water in it. Take a hair dryer or if you have a forced air dryer, try that. Hopefully it's simple as that.[/Q

Your EHC is failing. Does the horn stay honking only when you turn the key on? If it does then all your lights on the EHC also stay lit. Take a heat gun or blow drier & warm the EHC up for about 20 or 30 seconds & then try it. If that does it, your EHC has failed the cold test.

What does the JST connector go to that has nothing in it, its right behind the heavy ground wire?
Also the ring tongue terminal by the heavy ground cable has electrical tape on it and it looks like a red wire under the tape.

I believe that empty JST is for a kick stand sensor, not seen one on a Dog though
