BAD BATTERY#@##@#@

2004BC

FREEDOM!!!
Our OEM batteries where 270CCA and mine lasted 3 yrs. But now they are rated at 310 and only last 2 years now if your lucky. How do you keep something the same size/power over 10 years and keep the price the same with rising labor/material costs so the bean counters can keep the company showing profits year after year? They cut cost outta the interior plates by making them smaller and now they last a year or 2 tops. They now can increase the height of the plates inside the empty area in the case and make them more efficient to hold a higher longer lasting charge because they reduced them in prior years. The Braille below is 426 CCA however it $200, the Trottle X is $130 and 500CCA which is still cheaper than a hardly battery, both are still much cheaper than a Lithium. But many members have the Braille, why? Because some are getting many more than 2-3 years outta them, other MFG's are catching up and competing.
As far as the hammer and chisel, why would you ever use a black key instead of the red one that limits 750hp to 500hp, maybe ya don't use it but it sure is nice knowing its there:cheers:

I just bought and installed the 500cc 20X battery. I had bought the Braille a year ago and kept on a tender but only started the bike a couple of times. I was customizing it so a lot of down time. Braille died. Maybe a battery needs to cycle to stay healthy? Load, discharge, recharge, etc etc???? I don't know but the 500cc fired it right up yesterday and went riding since the customizing is finally finished!!!

I am getting the throttle x soon, I've got 2.5 years on my Duracell, it's doing ok, but I don't trust it for too much longer.

Hmmm now maybe we will hear less bs about the throttle x and how it can't be what it is
Did someone already start talking bs about it! That is not nice. For gods sake give the battery a change to prove itself!
Even if the battery is sold exclusively on Amazon, not from throttleX site and it is not American made by Deka like some HD batteries they sell there, but ”overseas” like they say, it doesn’t automatically mean the quality is not good!

I've had Harley battery's last along time as well up to 7 years I figured I'd try the throttle x battery die to its cranking power
Got the x-rated battery in and it def has some thump. It whirled it over no problem. I didn't choke it or give it gas so I could hear it turn over. I thought my comp releases could be bad, with my old battery it just took a while to get it to turn over. I put my finger on them and they would go down when I hit the button but would come back up after about 2-3 secs. With the new battery they go down while its whirling its ass off but still come back up after 2-3 secs.

back in the sixties, we just kicked them, few broken ankles, but didn't need no hi-dollar battery .
one time I had a kickback so hard it broke the tranny case

Sometimes you can have the slightest issue with your VR, especially the stock junk, and not even know it.
I have had a couple of bikes in my shop with that issue.
One was going through a battery every two years the other one was replacing batteries every year.
Both resolved with a quality Series VR.
Since I do not have a really long track record with those two bikes yet I can only tell you that both are into their third year with the same battery so something was resolved.
It also has allot to do with just how much engine starting and stopping you go through or how many times the battery is being charged and discharged. Discharging isn't necessarily being done just because you ride the bike.
Every battery has a certain number of charge/discharge cycles and when it's done it's done.
If your ride sits in the garage most of the year, and the battery is maintained, then your a good candidate for a seven year battery.
And I swear Paul I am in no way trying to indicate just how much you do or don't ride.......
