Although a few weeks ago he had 3 so someone bought one unfortunately.

Sorry U missed that deal, Russ. I was really hot to buy a Wolf before I discovered the tire issue. But I tour 10-15,000 miles a year, so it was certainly a deal breaker. I looked at a Wolf this same guy in Utah was selling, and danced around with him for a couple of months on several issues. He never mentioned this issue--not that he is bound to or anything, but it tells you something about the guy. I wound up buying a Bagger.
One day when Blacktopper and I were in Wichita, I talked to Matt Moore at BDM about this issue, thinking if I could find a source for tires, I'd buy several. Matt said he had discussed the tire issue with Avon, but he would have to buy a lot of tires for them to do a "run" of enough to make it worthwhile. I think in economics it's called a law of diminishing returns...gotta make enough of them to make it worth doing.
If I owned a Wolf, I'd be connecting with others on the Forum to form a 'Wolf Pack' and see how many guys would buy several tires to front enough money to make this worthwhile for Matt and Avon. I know for sure Matt has had discussions with Avon regarding this particular tire. Avon is lukewarm because the numbers are small. Matt would have to front a lot of money and then sell the tires one at a time...But I bet if you could find 20 guys who would each front a grand for a guarantee of several tires (I would sock some away if I had a chance), it would give Matt something to work with. I am sure he would be willing to negotiate with Avon and if they made a run of 100 or so tires, his investment would not be prohibitive.

That's the other option they're working on.rather not have to do that changing the line isn't the best ..Wolf owners just have to make some call maybe we can make it happen

I gave a quick look at the conversion table, it should be 220/60-18. Well, that doesn't exist either. At least I didn't notice any.

Blacktopper and I were in Dallas recently and Stroker's Shop Manager Derek had a Wolf in the shop they intended to convert to a 18" rear wheel. The stock wolf tire is a 220x50x20. Dunno if you could go up to a 240 or not....and not sure how many aspect ratios are available.
I would be wary because of the appearance of the bike, which to me is the whole reason to own a Wolf. The arc of the fender well and the tire need to be the same, or the geometry of the entire rear end will be off. I don't think you could go down two inches in tire size and have a visually satisfactory result.
I think the best play would be for a Wolf owner who is also a Forum member to step up and aggressively compile a list of all Wolf owners and then coordinate the project, as Donna and/or Matt would have little motivation to organize such a project, but I know they will help if they can. Again, find 20 owners willing to front a grand each for several tires, and you've created a bargaining position.
And I'm sure mods, etc would help locate Forum members who own Wolves, and even the guy in Utah, who I know has sold several, would provide contact info for the current owners. Just boils down to clerical work.
