Attended an AA meeting last week.

As I struggle to walk this week, broken ribs, dislocated shoulder and left thumb. Road Rash (AKA Road Rage) all over my body I just wanted to share this little story of mine. Last weekend I was out riding the Harley when some A-Hole ran over into my lane and didn’t even care when he saw me knowing we were way too close. So he makes a right turn into his subdivision and I turn around. Now you all know I was mad and wanted to give this guy a piece of my mind or even open a can of Whoop Ass! He attempted to get away so I raced to find him. After flying into his subdivision into unknown territory I saw him. He must have been looking for me because when I caught up to him he slammed on the brakes and stopped! Well this was something I didn’t figure into the equation. Going down hill the roadway bending slightly to the left I hit the brakes hard! So as I was sliding by him on my side I slammed into a rolled curb then into a mailbox tumbling into a nice front yard. I quickly question myself why did I turn around? So I guess I was due for an (Attitude Adjustment). Key word here was Turned Around. It’s not always the best decision to turn around and give that Dumb person the finger or an education of safe road driving. We all should ride with a calm head, quick thinking to avoid the unknown, and never fasted than our guardian angel can fly! Just something o wanted to share. Maybe it will keep someone alive who reads this or even in a pickle like I am in. Ride safe!

PS. No the guy was not charged with the accident. He told police he was parked!

Deep breaths there Steve and count to 10. I never try to retaliate against bad drivers when I am on a motorcycle. There are just too many options they have to fuck you over on two wheels. Glad you are not hurt real bad. How's the scooter.

Sorry to hear about your accident Steve.
A driver can cut you off in a way that can cause injury or death and drive away. But if you chase him down you can be charged with road rage.
Stay cool and give us his address.:2thumbs:

Sometimes as hard as it is to do, it's better to just walk away. Hopefully you will be back in the saddle in a few weeks. I hope the ass gave you a hand after you went down.

Wow  Hope you heal quickly. I will keep your story in mind.....maybe it will keep me from getting my butt kicked or worse :D Did he atleast come over and help you up.

Thanks guys. No he never came out of his SUV. Found out later he was a COP! $8500.00 dollars my cost for repairs to bike. Hospital bill$$$$$$$$$.. I hope this helps someone turn away and live to fight another day!

Oh Mad Dog. I just might take you up on that!

Hi Steve! I've been wondering how you've been....don't see you on Facebook anymore and have thought about calling the shop to check on you.

I'm so sorry for what happened to you but I thank you for using this as an example to others. I'm always preaching to friends about Road Rage, especially when on a bike. It just makes something ugly...uglier!

Hope you and your bike make a speedy recovery!

Hi Steve. Been there, done that. Damn near the same scenario, but with a teenage girl. She slammed on the brakes and I slammed into her. She was ticketed for causing an accident, but I was still lucky to walk away from that. Glad you're ok. What's even worse is that the cager was a cop. A highly trained driver! Right. Most frequent a bar after hours more than we do. I wouldn't be surprised if that's where he was coming home from. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Steve,
I don't think I would of turned around either. Nothing good can come out of someone on 4 wheels vs. someone on two wheels. You just have to shake your head and ride away!. Glad you're alive!

Steve, I understand why you went after the guy, people act that way in their cars because they know they can get away with it and it seems like it is getting worse. They wouldn't do it if there was retribution for their actions.

That's the old "Would da, Could da, Should da" :bang:. Sometimes in the heat of passion  we do things we normally wouldn't. Been there, done that. Hope you have a speedy recovery.

Pretty gutsy to stand up and admit to the error in judgement, great lesson you passed on. Thanks

Sure Sorry it had to be such an expensive and painful one though.

All the Best with your recoveries.

Ouch man, sorry to hear that.

I chased someone down on my crotch rocket once back in the day...it ended much better for me when he got out. I grabbed him by the jacket and proceeded to head butt him 5-6 times with a full face helmet on. Left him lying there and took off. Looking back, thank god I was young and bullet proof...now I just do my best to keep both tires down and hand out middle fingers and cuss at small children in the suspect car more often :D

Hey Steve,
Sorry for what happened, and your right, there are times to walk away. There is also the time when you should turn around.

I had two guys play chicken with me last year. It was the latest fun craze in my area. Cars acting like they are gonna hit you on the bike. Cops couldn't catch the ones doing it.

I was on my way home from work and they tried running me off the road as a game, and thought it was funny. I turned around and caught them. Driver actually pissed his pants as I grabbed him through the drivers window. Passenger sat there, with his head down. The piss stunk so bad, I let him go, and got back on my bike.

I look at it like this. The next time he thinks about how funny it is to scare a rider by doing that, he'll remember the one who caught him and caused him to piss himself. Maybe it won't be one of my friends that end up doing it to, causing them to crash.

Then this weekend a guy wasn't paying attention and crossed over the yellow line and almost took me out (F-150). I didn't go after him. As wrong as it was that he did, it wasn't on purpose.
