So is there anyone near Riverside, Ca that knows how to work on Big Dogs that wouldn't mind hanging out and giving me direction? I don't drink anymore but I will buy the Beers and BBQ. It's 3 am and I have been in my Garage since 8 am and can't see straight and can't remember who told me they were close by. Ouch, I keep messing everything Up!

Let me know.

Thanks,

Bob

I am not a wrench, but have done services on my K9 and a few small repairs. What kind of problems do you need help with? If I can I will try and answer any questions. Gary C

I have or maybe had so many problems, my front left fork was leaking fork oil because I allowed someone to drill out the broken bolt that held my format caliper on. I had a warped front rotor that must of snapped the bolt of, I replaced that but someone broke a drill bit off in there, I spent 20 hours slowly drilling that out. I got colbolt drill bits and when I got to the end, the drill bit went to the inside and it started the leak. At first I thought some red locktite may help but it leaked out. I had to rethread it too. I took that all apart and this time I used JB Weld. When I put the wheel back, I stripped the threads holding the wheel to the fork!!! I went out and got longer bolts and was able to get it back. The other part was when I had the rear rotor replaced, my drive belt was too loose! I have never done hay before but I may have fixed that a hour ago, went to test ride it and ran out of gas just out of my driveway! I am headed to the gas station dater I am dome typing this. I just need anyone that may know if everything I did looks right. All I have left now is replaced my rear left side light wire, my tire has worn them down and the shorts out and turns off my speedo!

Thanks,

Bobby

I just left Palm Springs 3 months ago and will be back in the spring. I can help you out with about anything on the bike. In the meantime you have a lot of other members in the area. If you need anymore help with something you can't figure out or have the tools for contact Kaptain Amerika in San Diego. He has a great shop/garage and can do about anything on your bike also. Keep the faith and once you get that thing all fixed up you will forget all the problems you had. But remember to keep up on your maintenance. :)

Thanks all...

Five Five I know you are busy and as much as I text you, I really hate to bother you. I still can't get over your ride! It is all back together, I now have some small issues, I just am concerned about my belt, I just pulled it back until I thought the belt felt right and eyeball'd the tracking. I pray I have it right, it seems good. Bill if you have time I would love for you to come out and maybe spend the day hanging out and playing with bike to see if my work was done right. I will buy the beers and BBQ if you want. I can say one thing, fixing things is the perfect time to polish the hard to get stuff, my bike has never been so polished, my rims even look chrome now and all the other parts but I spent more time on that than fixing it.

Five Five, I would love for you to see my new place, it's not a mess like before. I just went crazy and spent a ton of money and never throw boxes away etc... My garage needs some work but daily I am clearing boxes so I can make my dream garage.

Raywood, you normally live out here? Let me know when you get back, I am just off the 60fwy. Maybe we can all meet up and ride. Also, Ron isn't too far from me, I am not sure of his user name on here but he called me and also is willing to help and is close by me. The only thing about riding for me at this time is I hate cold! No amount of cloths I wear helps me! I can still ride though.

I've been in that area off and on since the 80's. My brother lives in Palm Springs and I just left there 3 months ago. I used to live in Oceanside a few years ago and commute 100 miles a day to San Diego everyday of the year just about. I've ridden with 55 and Brad and 55 will take care of your bike for you. I'll be back out later next spring.

I dont know where they are from you. But they had some nice bikes and they seemed like some nice folks that may be able to help. just sayin ! good luck !

You might try calling Bill Wilson at The Bike Shop in Corona. His number is 951-288-7445 or 951-316-8173. My brother-in-law has his HD worked on there and Bill said he would work on my K-9 if I trailered it up to his shop. I have talked to him on the phone and he seems like a good guy. Hope this helps. Well I look forward to meeting up with you when you head back. Bill, just give me a call if you can, I don't know if Andrew is busy but it would be cool if he came too. Come to think of it, I should give him a call to see how everything is.

If you don't get it taken care of talk to chris at ghetto choppers in oceanside their shop is outstanding! hope it works out for you. I am in San Marcos but I don't do any work where the wheels may fall off LOL.. last time I replace my rear tire I ended up warping the threads.

Pauldeepsea, so is that you in the picture with the flag? I noticed the pic but thought maybe it was a painting or something, I am always on my iPad and most sites are hard for me to see. I am so used to my 27inch HD Monitor and than I use this, night and day. To this day I am scared of the water, I went to the movies when jaws first came out and to this day that movie makes me think twice about going into the water. I was born and raised here in So Cali and I look back thinking how I spent everyday at the beach during every summer. Me and my friends would take the Bus to the beach and during my teen years I never thought about it much until I was out about 200 yards from the shore and a school of Doplphins came within 50 feet from me and at that moment all I could see was a few fins sticking out of the water! That's the day I found out it is possible to walk on water! I must of looked pretty stupid from shore but when you are neck deep in water and can only see fins, the strangest thing happens, I call it fight or walk on water. I broke a world record for the 200 yard dash to shore, 2.3 seconds! Since then I always picture a shark coming up and getting me, to top it off, I have the music in my head thinking I am next. I hate torturing myself so I don't go in the water much. I have always wanted to scuba but I rather jump out of a plane at my age.
