Any options to stop my kickstand from grinding or should I just upgrade to an '04 or newer style ???

bigdog.jpg Hey guys, Just wonderin' if anyone else has done anything to stop the kickstand touching down on left hand turns with the old forward mounted kickstand like my '03 Chopper has ? Should I just order an '04 or newer stand and drill and tap my frame for the rear mounted one ? It's getting to be a royal pain in my ass. I'm unaware if there's one that hugs the frame closer or not. I appreciate anyone's input, thanks, Shoo

I actually added a longer tab to mine, so it will drag before my open primary does. If you ain't dragging, you ain't riding.

On my 03 Chopper, it's usually my heel that drags first. I like that. It's a warning that my speed in the turn is a bit too much. Much faster than that and the kickstand takes a beating. When the foot tab wears down, it's necessary to use your hand to put the stand down. Then you build it up with welding wire or buy a new kickstand. I consider the kickstand to be a normal wear item, much like the front lip on my sports car. It's more flexible than the other parts and doesn't cause the rear wheel to lift on a bumpy left turn.

Couldn't help but notice your avatar pic , nothing personal
your a big guy .
Are you running the stock Works shocks ?
Do yourself a favor -upgrade to Performance 422 shocks .
They are adjustable - you can raise the frame off the ground slightly to stop the
stand from hitting on the corners .
they also blow away the stock shocks on the bumps . Much better set up .
