On my 03 Chopper, it's usually my heel that drags first. I like that. It's a warning that my speed in the turn is a bit too much. Much faster than that and the kickstand takes a beating. When the foot tab wears down, it's necessary to use your hand to put the stand down. Then you build it up with welding wire or buy a new kickstand. I consider the kickstand to be a normal wear item, much like the front lip on my sports car. It's more flexible than the other parts and doesn't cause the rear wheel to lift on a bumpy left turn.
