Prayers were answered and are still being answered as Andy continue his journey in healing and getting back to normal, and Andy is going to make it back to normal soon. All the thanks belongs to the One (God) who has brought Andy through this from the brink of seeming very hopeless at the beginning several weeks ago. We, I hope speaking for everyone, are just glad we were in place as it were for the support system, and to witness first hand th e Master Healer and Helper at work. Merry Christmas indeed!!!
A quick , short story. I was not able to inlist in the military because of "the foreign object in my head" the plate from the accident. That has always been a thorn in my side might I add. But, a very close friend of mine was in the Army Rangers and let's say traveled all over the world. Lots of times I really didn't know where they were at, but that they were traveling, and He always requested my prayers for them as they were in harms way where ever they were traveling too. They always received them too. He and His brother that was in Iraq shared stories of situations that only by the grace of God they made it out alive. By the Grace and Mercy of Almighty God Andrew is now recovering and I quote,"He is doing really good though".Prayer really, really works as we use it in faith, and even though their are times when we have all prayed and it seemed like our prayers were not answered. We have to be strong and accept that answer from God, and continue even if it seems we are the only one praying. Prayer still works!!! I am reminded of, and reflect to this Mission Statement or as it is called the Ranger Creed I was introduced to by my friend and his company I got the opportunity to pray for as they traveled the world for many, many years.
The Ranger Creed
The Ranger Creed is the official mission statement of the United States Army Rangers, and is also adopted by Rangers in other armed forces around the world. It was initiated by then-LTC Leuer and his Command Sergeant Major Neal R. Gentry. It was re-drafted by the battalion XO, Major "Rock" Hudson and finalized at Ft Stewart, Georgia in 1974 when the original cadre deployed there on 1 July 1974. The last word in the first stanza is a result of the Battalions re-organization to Regimental.
Recognizing that I volunteered as a Ranger, fully knowing the hazards of my chosen profession, I will always endeavor to uphold the prestige, honor, and high esprit de corps of my Ranger Regiment.
Acknowledging the fact that a Ranger is a more elite soldier who arrives at the cutting edge of battle by land, sea, or air, I accept the fact that as a Ranger my country expects me to move farther, faster and fight harder than any other soldier.
Never shall I fail my comrades. I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong and morally straight and I will shoulder more than my share of the task whatever it may be. One-hundred-percent and then some.
Gallantly will I show the world that I am a specially selected and well-trained soldier. My courtesy to superior officers, neatness of dress and care of equipment shall set the example for others to follow.
Energetically will I meet the enemies of my country. I shall defeat them on the field of battle for I am better trained and will fight with all my might. Surrender is not a Ranger word. I will never leave a fallen comrade to fall into the hands of the enemy and under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my country.
Readily will I display the intestinal fortitude required to fight on to the Ranger objective and complete the mission though I be the lone survivor.
Merry Christmas to you all, Let's keep the prayers going for Andrew's complete recovery and Cindy having the strength to make it through all she is dealing until the neighbors hear that K-9 roaring through the neighborhood again!!!! And it will !!!!
May God Bless everyone and their familys from this forum, all our military veterans past and present I say thank you always! Have a wonderful Christmas!!!
