Cindy, DO NOT let yourself get run down to the point you are doing yourself no good. get help if possible and take a night or two off just for you and DON'T feel guilty about it. i am certain Andrew will understand and the only ones you two have to answer to is each other. right now, you are his rock. don't let that rock get a crack in it.

Ms. Cindy I have to agree w/ Wood on this one. You need to make a little time for yourself. Get some well needed fresh air go for a ride.

Cindy,
Its just a minor setback for andy, sometimes you have to take a step back and rest for the next day. I agree with the others , you also need some rest .
Still praying.

A thought from an old guy. They tell me I don't get enough sleep too. Sometimes I tend to push my limits of just regular sleep, 4 or 5 hours a day, the rest of the time working. This works for me. You have to plan rest time and stick to it. For example, I go to work at either 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning and get off 10ish. I come home and go back to other work till dark. I plan on at 7 or 7:30 in the bed and sleep 3 or 4 hours and do it again, especially in the warmer months. I sleep those 8 hours on the weekend and always sleep with earplugs.A thirty minute nap here and there helps too sometimes a necessitty . It is perfectly ok to tell Andy that you are going to go home and get some sleep whenever you know you need too. He certainly wouldn't want you to have accident or wear yourself out either. The medical folks have Andy under surveilance 24/7, but I know you want to be there and feel you need to be there as much as possible. You can't be in the ICU except certain times anyway, so plan rest around that as you can. But you have to plan a rest time daily and stick to it best as you can. When you get home get your Bible and read say in the Psalms it will relax you and ask God to give you really good rest when you take the time to sleep. I ask Him to give me the strength to get through my day everyday, and when I might forget to ask and get really pooped out every once in a while. I am reminded of the verse that says You have not because you ask not.

Father God we thank you so much for answering the prayers for this family and turning a rather hopeless situation with Andrew's health around in the past five weeks. We ask You to continue to heal Andrew at the pace where He can totally recover and be 100% as soon as possible. Teach and give us all more patience. Father God we ask You to give Cindy the strength to get through these long days , everyday, and when ever she can rest, give her really good rest where she doesn't wear herslf completely out. Keep her protected, safe, and awake on her trips back and forth to the hospital or wherever she might be going. Let her know she is never alone, and You are with her and watching over her all the time. She even said,"My faith in prayer has been renewed" as she has seen Andrew's recovery. I ask You Father God to continue to strengthen her faith, as You heal Andrew and make Him better everyday. Take care of all their needs Father God as only You can, and again We thank You for bringing Hope to a hopeless situation, at least some thought it seemed hopeless. Thank You for letting me be there too, I appreciate it.

In Jesus' name I pray,
Amen.

I'm off today and the rest of the week. I will finish Christmas shopping and head to the hospital. For a month I felt I needed to visit Andy every day because I was afraid it may be my last. Now I see him daily because he knows me and I seem to make his day. I will rest this week.
Andy had a proceedure today do drain fluid off his lungs. They are checking to see if there is an infection in his lungs that is causing his high fevers. He is doing really good though :).
Again, thank you all for helping us through this time of need.
Merry Christmas!

Prayers were answered and are still being answered as Andy continue his journey in healing and getting back to normal, and Andy is going to make it back to normal soon. All the thanks belongs to the One (God) who has brought Andy through this from the brink of seeming very hopeless at the beginning several weeks ago. We, I hope speaking for everyone, are just glad we were in place as it were for the support system, and to witness first hand th e Master Healer and Helper at work. Merry Christmas indeed!!!

A quick , short story. I was not able to inlist in the military because of "the foreign object in my head" the plate from the accident. That has always been a thorn in my side might I add. But, a very close friend of mine was in the Army Rangers and let's say traveled all over the world. Lots of times I really didn't know where they were at, but that they were traveling, and He always requested my prayers for them as they were in harms way where ever they were traveling too. They always received them too. He and His brother that was in Iraq shared stories of situations that only by the grace of God they made it out alive. By the Grace and Mercy of Almighty God Andrew is now recovering and I quote,"He is doing really good though".Prayer really, really works as we use it in faith, and even though their are times when we have all prayed and it seemed like our prayers were not answered. We have to be strong and accept that answer from God, and continue even if it seems we are the only one praying. Prayer still works!!! I am reminded of, and reflect to this Mission Statement or as it is called the Ranger Creed I was introduced to by my friend and his company I got the opportunity to pray for as they traveled the world for many, many years.

The Ranger Creed

The Ranger Creed is the official mission statement of the United States Army Rangers, and is also adopted by Rangers in other armed forces around the world. It was initiated by then-LTC Leuer and his Command Sergeant Major Neal R. Gentry. It was re-drafted by the battalion XO, Major "Rock" Hudson and finalized at Ft Stewart, Georgia in 1974 when the original cadre deployed there on 1 July 1974. The last word in the first stanza is a result of the Battalions re-organization to Regimental.

Recognizing that I volunteered as a Ranger, fully knowing the hazards of my chosen profession, I will always endeavor to uphold the prestige, honor, and high esprit de corps of my Ranger Regiment.

Acknowledging the fact that a Ranger is a more elite soldier who arrives at the cutting edge of battle by land, sea, or air, I accept the fact that as a Ranger my country expects me to move farther, faster and fight harder than any other soldier.

Never shall I fail my comrades. I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong and morally straight and I will shoulder more than my share of the task whatever it may be. One-hundred-percent and then some.

Gallantly will I show the world that I am a specially selected and well-trained soldier. My courtesy to superior officers, neatness of dress and care of equipment shall set the example for others to follow.

Energetically will I meet the enemies of my country. I shall defeat them on the field of battle for I am better trained and will fight with all my might. Surrender is not a Ranger word. I will never leave a fallen comrade to fall into the hands of the enemy and under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my country.

Readily will I display the intestinal fortitude required to fight on to the Ranger objective and complete the mission though I be the lone survivor.

Merry Christmas to you all, Let's keep the prayers going for Andrew's complete recovery and Cindy having the strength to make it through all she is dealing until the neighbors hear that K-9 roaring through the neighborhood again!!!! And it will !!!!

May God Bless everyone and their familys from this forum, all our military veterans past and present I say thank you always! Have a wonderful Christmas!!!

Ray , Hang in there!!!!
