All lights come on, ignition off

Hello Big Dog people, This is a 2006 K9. I'm reaching out to see if any of you have had this issue. I will try to brief but thorough.
In approximately 12 years of owning this bike the issue has happened three times. The first two times this has happened it was during a wash, I always bag the hand controls ,air cleaner and the coil cover/ign. switch. I do not get crazy with water pressure from a spigot/hose. just wet it down and gently rinse the wash off. I also pack a bag in the back of the coil cover. Previously when this happened I would disconnect the battery then use a leaf blower to dry it off as usual. Reconnect the battery and it was good. So a couple weeks ago I was working near the bike and I noticed the lights came on, the headlight, the turn signals, speedo everything was on. It had not gotten wet, I actually pushed the run and start button just to see if it would crank, ignition was off and the key was in the house no crank, but hey why not see hahaha. So for some reason I decided to slap the coil cover a couple times with the palm of my hand, well the lights went out but came right back on. So I disconnected the accessory wires from the negative side of the battery but left the Positive and Negative battery cables connected. This has been sitting about a week to ten days since and tonight walking past it I noticed the little red oil light on the speedo was lit. I slapped the coil cover again with the battery disconnected and damn lights came on. If I connect everything and turn on the ignition the bike fires right up, So my question is do you guys think this is just a connection issue behind the coil cover or is this an ignition switch issue? I guess I need to pull the coil cover and clean everything behind that cover and drowned it in dielectric grease. Life has not given me the time to try this first in a couple weeks. Any thoughts are appreciated, Is my K9 possessed? Sorry its a long read. Thank you all in advance.

Yeah take the cover off check wires for a cut or bad insulation somewhere. Remember that the key switch only grounds the input. So if that wire is shorting to ground anywhere the EHC thinks the key was turned on. It also could be a bad key switch.
