Ray - Good write up... had the same issue on my bike with the brake, but on the front - did the same thing with the dremel and all is good :) Also had the hi beam stuck, after much time chasing down the switch, turned out to be the relay with a mind of it's own.

Hope to see you at Biktoberfest...

:eek::eek::eek:Ray, what a great write-up with pictures. I am going to subscribe to this post. It is most excellent!:2thumbs::2thumbs::2thumbs::2thumbs:

I am too scared to use sand paper and stick with polishing compound at the most! Your wheels must have needed some real work. The wheel looks awesome!:2thumbs::2thumbs::2thumbs:

I have done a trip to Birmingham with Pirelli racing tires (i.e. soft $$s rubber) looking like your back tire and when I returned home the metal belt was showing in some spots! So, I am not sure I would make a 3,000 mile trip to Arkansas like you plan to do. Just my opinion.

I still have the TP boxes and in 08 Big Dog gave me the new EHC with the extra lights and let me keep my old one as a spare.

I'll be there, look forward to finally meeting you.

Have you thought about saving up for the S&S dual runners? Just a question.
No, I'm satisfied with my Wimmer and Green Filter.

I'll have the final part of installation done this evening and will probably just turn this into a 2nd series on "How to maintain you bike".

Thanks all

Ray or I suppose anyone else,

Is there anything that you have done to your hand controls or anything else to ensure that when getting caught in the rain over your countless miles you dont have any electrical issues?

I have read about conformal coating the PCB boards but that is all. I was curious if that was something you have done or any other precautionary steps you have taken to waterproof your skoot. Hell I know you got stuck in bad weather all the time.

Planning a long trip come october just want to do what I can to prevent breakdowns.
