I rate this thread way up there ... I find myself asking whats going to happen next! NO Fuck is still the same  pretty scarry some places I still work in Norfolk a few times a month...SO dark you need a search light to get out. yet some areas very pretty ...by boat ! I Love to fish in and around Eliz River. This thread makes me relive some of my formitive years ... "wondering how the hell I made it this far. GREAT POST
Glad you guys are keeping up with it. It's a blast writing about the ole times. If it wasn't for getting a new scanner I may never have started this thread.

Next segment though will break your heart!!! :flag: :flag: :flag:

I am very sorry to hear that happen to your brother.
But looking forward to hopefully a happy ending of his story and recovering completely.
I am telling you, you should write a book with your life experience.........:flag: :2thumbs:

Ray, I'm really glad you got a scanner! Some of this is kinda like "ridin' with you"! But I think I'll pass on the long submersions under the ice (don't think that would be my thing.

I remember MTV. I was working in Montana in the '80s and loved watching the music vids. Recently I came a across some of those oldies: Paula Abdul (with the little animated characters and Rober Palmers sexy vids, Addicted to Love and Simply Irristable).

Sturgis must have been a real kick back then, but a "coin toss" if you would get there and back with the bike reliability issue. The Chip definitely looked different this summer, huh?!

Only part of your story that I didn't like was the last one of your brothers accident. Really sorry that happened and hope the story turns out OK.

Robert Palmer vids were real good. Too bad MTV went to shit. We do have VH1 now but it's nothing like MTV was back in the early days. Too much Rap shit and other stuff for me now.

The Chip was definaltely small back then but at the same time is was a great party and you felt like you were with family. Still the same today just you don't meet all as there are so many today.

My brother almost died but is doing more than well today and better than most considering his handicap. I'll get into that in the future but he is doing very good and hopefully (after 5 yrs) have his Big Bear Chopper up this spring.

Glad you're enjoying the story/history.
Thanks,
Ray

No journal, just reflecting back when I pull these old pictures out and scan them to the computer.
My brothers accident was in 1985 so almost 25 yrs ago.

Glad you are all enjoying the story. Kind of kool reflecting back on it all. I have more to come like rebuilding that old shovelhead from the ground up back in 85 & 86.

Thanks for listeneing.

I echo what everyone else says. I started reading and couldn't stop til I got to the end. Looking forward to the next bit. Ray, this would make a great film - you could make your millions. I always fancied doing a bit of acting!!

Rayy! You rock man. As goofy as it sounds. This is the first thing I check when I get home from the work. Funny huh. Other than how the family is of coarse. Yes dear.Right away dear as I am trotting down the stairs.

Been following this great epic adventure and just makes me realize that no matter how shitty times get, somewhere along the way your life has some meaning even if its only for the privileged few. Wow did that just come from me? I must be getting old too:lol: Keep the adventure rolling because this is way better than "books on tape" Nice job Ray
