So my EHC died. Bike died once, died again, lost low beam, then high beam.
After reading several posts I:
1. Cleaned every connection I could reach that wasn't already sealed.
2. Installed the EHC I bought on E-bay 6 years ago.
3. Put in a new Braille battery (had a 5year old in the bike):2thumbs:
4. Thought about the time my negative battery terminal melted:angry:, so...
I routed the main ground cable and the positive cable to the starter so that they were restricted from moving and attached them to the top battery terminals. All other connectors were put on the side terminals.
Hopefully the cables will not be able to move/loosen and any arcing that might happen when the starter draws juice will not affect the other connections.
Put an allen wrench and a small wrench, both with shrink wrap on in the tool pouch for maintenance.
Also removed the HID headlight kit (Sorry Jake) just in case. Has anyone figured out a resistor or capacitor or relay setup to protect the EHC from the initial current draw? The kit I put on my car came with a relay setup.
Hope I'm good for another 8 years!
Happy Motoring!
