Hey guys sorry haven’t been on in awhile got the rip kit installed all troubles with wiring gone. Been riding her
New problem
But a new clutch in her when I bought her old was slipping bad
Took out a 9 plate. So put a new 9 plate in. Guess what slipping again. Adjusted an adjusted bout 2000 miles probably
Talked to guy at Bigdog cycles he says wrong set up 9 plate won’t last needs a 12 plate.
he wants 300 bucks for plates an 130 for pressure plate an 50 bucks for seal “ kit”
Question will this 12 solve the problem
I don’t wanna waste 500 bucks to find out the 12 is shit too. Thanks guys. Rubber down rider up

No 9 is a better set up, thicker steal plates.

I had to get the higher force pressure plate from Baker.

it was only ~$50 if I recall. Fixed my issue, and I’m far from stock HP.

So the Bigdog set up originally was a 12 friction plate .
When I took this one apart she had 9 with some thin steel an one thick steel plate. Was slipping bad couldn’t adjust it to work so got new 9
It worked for awhile but then same slipping problems
Was told should last 30 thousand miles. Apparently mines gone threw 3 clutch packs an only got 13,500 on miles lmao. Not sure what to do but can’t keep throwing clutch packs at it every 1,500 miles.
Now if there’s a new 12 plate system they worked the bugs out of I just want the best pack to get the best traction out of my bike. That 117 was scarey fast when I had full clutch after I got the new one in but didn’t last long. Top end 4-5-6 top end rev no go Any suggestions on best ones to get or how to solve this slipping problem this bike seems to keep.

One of the old ones.
If your stack height (9 or 12 disc) is within specs (1.97-1.98“) total, you’re OK there. A new clutch pack should be right on the money. Check your diaphragm spring too—if it has weakened, it’ll cause the clutch to slip. I got out one that I know is defective and measured it with a caliper:6CEDC87E-E249-47FA-B171-D143C0C6E0C6.jpeg
You can see it reads .237 from the finger to the bench—I have another that I know is good, and it reads .30. There is also a section in the Manual about measuring it on the bike.
It’s embarrassing top admit that one time I misplaced the big ring that goes on the inside lip of the pressure plate—actually, it goes immediately under the diaphragm spring in the pic above. I dropped it and it rolled out of sight. Got it back together and hte damn clutch still slipped. I cleaned the shop and found it (providing me with yet another corrective experience!)
If you have a built engine and making well above stock HP, just give up and buy a Bandit clutch—problem solved.

Have you looked at the carrier real good -- there were some issues with the original cast carriers cracking.
Baker and Bandit both have billet options that solve that issue as well.
