Im not sure who can relate to this but as I sit here in Uijongbu South Korea, into my 3d month of a year long tour here. I've just been released from the Infantry Battalion I have been in since my arrival and moved up the Division HQs to serve the rest. The snow falling, tempurature in the mid 20s and Im over looking the 1st tee of a frozen golf course, where several Koreans are actually teeing off... Im reminded why they call the Military Service a sacrafice... Im sacraficing alright.... my poor chopper is sitting in storage back in Oklahoma, where last year on this day I was actually riding down the road on my way to Texas and it was 65 degrees...

But seriously folks, while you put your knees in the breeze around these holidays, weather it be 70 degrees or you have to put on a ski mask to do it while your eyes freeze shut... Remember all our brothers and sisters across the globe, counting the days till they get back and saddle up on their own Steel Horse again.

Proudly serving for all Americans!

Hey bro....you are not forgotten. No matter how bad all the American winers think it is, they need to wake up and realize you are making the ultimate sacrafice ultimately. Thanks! You let me know what you need. Porno mags, bike mags, and it's yours.

ChopperPilot117, glad to hear from you. Hope your not eating to much of that Kimchi!! That shit will be in your skin when you come home.
Spent a lot of time in Taegu and Pohung as well as Pusan.

Just yell if there is anything we can send you to make your tour any shorter.
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and get home safe.

I spent some time in Pusan and Yechon wearing 'mickey mouse' boots and stomping thru the mud! Good times!

Thanks for doing what you do man!

Funny you mention it but everytime I get on my bike, I think about my buddies that can't join me because they're deployed or gone for good.

Semper Fi!

LDO sends.

I was straight leg Infantry.....always loved the Hueys. To this day I would rather ride than walk. Thanks for everything brother

Ha, the food court at CRC. I miss those nasty breakfast sandwiches! Been there, done that, I feel for you man. I used to hate when we'd be playing soccer and the chopper would come in.

It was harder for a GI to play that course than the Koreans, they blocked up all the T times.

I can relate ChopperPilot; I spent my year in Taegu for the most part, was attacked by rock yielding college age kids in Pusan (guess they didn't know we didn't wanna be there either). Soju (sp?) and Jim Beam helped the time pass.
Take care of yourself, video games helped too. Oh almost forgot...don't forget your umm 'wrapper' when your out clubbing.

I can relate spent two Team Sprite operations in the Pohung area. In fact we lost a CH-53 with 36 Marines on board Team Sprite 1984. At the time I was the Company 1st Sgt for Weapons Company 3rd Bn 5th Marines. It was no fun pealing them Marines of the side of the mountain. BTW the Number on the Ch 53 was 666 and it was called the Beast. May they rest in peace.

It get down right cold at especially for the grunts (infantry) who have to camp outdoors most of time there and especially during the 20 day operation phase. But the hot baths in Pohung sure were good and so were the women.

Take care and stay warm, it won't be long and you can get you a short timmers calender :D
