3" extension/ 1st gear only

So I installed my 3" extensions this afternoon. One problem I am having was the forward linkage bolt hitting the frame. To counter this I shortened the linkage as short as I could. Everything moves freely but when I rode it, it will only go into 1st and neutral. Has anyone run into this when installing the extensions? I am thinking I may need to lenghten my linkage but then the forward bolt will hit the frame.

I am not sure on this, but I think you may have to remove or shorten the spacer to get it to clear the frame.

Yup. When i added my extended reach i had to shorten the spacer on the toe end to clear the frame:2thumbs:

I've got 3" extensions on my K9. I made a new spacer shorter and it works fine.

I had to cut my spacer. If you dont get a pic by the morning I will send a close up. I had no problems.

Racer, should not have shortened you linkage. The shifter assembly only has so much travel and by shortening the linkage you have limited the travel. The shifter needs to be centered/indexed in the center of the movement of the shifter so it will work both ways. Your gonna have to lengthen the linkage and as said above shorten the spacer.
