2009 Wolf EFI Fuel Filter

Guys,

I've searched this forum and unfortunately I do not have one of those $165.00 service manuals; does anyone have any idea of the difficulty in changing or cleaning the fuel filter, I must assume it is in the tank....is it disposable or can it be cleaned? The exploded parts diagram on BDPP makes it look like it's inside the fuel tank; appears to be a long screen hooked to the fuel line exiting the tank?

There is a screen in the tank, but it's only for big particles -- it's not really a "fuel filter." You can/should/maybe add an after-market filter, like a Pingel, to the fuel line feeding the motor. Do a search and you'll find the information/opinions on the forum.

I've reached the conclusion that the previous owner did not install a fuel filter, I plan to do so in the very near future....thanks to those that replied.

Thanks Franco, the problem is there is only about a 4-5 inch fuel line from the bottom of the tank to the injectors and it's crammed in a very tight spot, I just have to reroute and make the main line longer so I can fit an in-line fuel filter. I assume there's no issues with filter holding the 60 PSI pressure of the EFI....Thanks

No problem... you just need to unscrew the petcock, the screen is attached to it (first empty the tank ) then you can clean it up and re-attach it again.

The Pingel fuel filters are High Flow and I have not heard of any one here who had issues with them... It will help to keep your EFI system cleaner for sure. :up:
