Outstanding. :old2: Any idea what was causing the hang up?
I believe it was a bit ‘swollen’ I put a screwdriver blade front and rear and gently pried box open a tad. Then took some long bolts with large washers so I had some grip and jiggled back and forth and finally uttered a few curse words and it came out.

Try as MJSK9 suggested. The cap may help if removed and also any wires on the side of the battery. I think the battery may just be swollen.
Nice job Gerald, sounds like you nailed it with the swollen battery diagnosis! You can really see it in this blow up of the 1st pic up as you can see the printing on the bottom right side of the battery vs the bottom left and the gap difference!

I had Cat dozers that the batteries would freeze in over the winter. They would swell up and get so tight in a battery box that we would have to take a spud bar and smash and break them up to get the pieces out.

I have never seen a motorcycle battery swell up though. Learn something every day.
