so I just got this 2007 bulldog efi. The previous owner ran ethanol free gass 24/7 in it. I don't have that luxury where I'm located so I still 93 octane premium. But after the first time I put gas in it, it started having trouble holding idle and sometimes dying after getting off throttle. It may not have anything to do with gas idk. The only other thing I did was open the stock breather from the solid plate to one with three big holes in it. Any ideas and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Put it back the way it was, and see if that makes any difference :2cents:

Oh and I had to do the efi reset because I disconnected the battery and cleaned the terminals. " turn on, hit run, turn off for min of 15 sec then turn on again"

With the efi sensor reset I probably need to run it a bit huh? And I put everything back the way it was when I got it. So the only thing new is the Ledglow smd led light kit I put on the bike. Which is connected straight to the battery b

Damn I hope so. It's my new baby. Not married no kids. Sadly got into a wreak in my 07' pitbull and got this before my leg was even out of the cast. It's got the efi, air ride suspension, mini windshield, single and two up seats, diamond cut heads and chromed out everywhere. She's beautiful. Just need her to run like the dog she is.

Do you think you might have got some bad gas? pull the fuel hose and stick it in a bucket or some container, turn the key on and hit run. the fuel pump will start pumping. It won't take much to see if it has water in it. Just a thought.

I still have the original one so I'll put that back on. The new one was from wild stead it was a ratchet type. That damn thing was expensive too.

Regardless after disconnecting the battery and resetting the efi sensors: key on, hit run, turn off for min 15 sec then restart, I still have to take it out and run it for a bit right? Of course after changing everything back to the way it originally was.

So what exactly does it do when you do that reset? Cause as soon as I did it it idled horrible. Wouldn't keep idle at all

The only thing the "reset" does is re calibrate the IAC (idle air control) valve. You can hear it pulsing. It will travel end stop to end stop counting pulses to re learn its position.

The EFI module will adjust the position to control the idle. You do not have to ride it. The air cleaner plate is irrelevant, as is the gas cap.

I had a problem with mine idling and the issue turned out to be debris in the injectors. Tank liner I believe. Not hard to do. I can give you instruction if you choose to do it.

Cause my problem is at start it starts fine and idles. Then if I rev it and as the rpms comes down it drops below idle and more than often dies. It happened all of a sudden too. I bought the bike the past owner ran ethnol free premium 24/7. Then the first time i filled it up, first time riding it right after changing breather plate and gas cap, filled it up and immediately wouldn't hold idle didn't even leave the pump but ran fine to the gas station.
