I've been all over the forum looking for an answer and have had no success. Does anyone know which cam SHOULD have came stock in my 117? Current dyno numbers with 'unknown' cam - 104/112. Mods: G-carb with ThunderJet, Vance & Hines B/R, D&M A/C.
I'm riding the fence over upgrading to the S&S 585 or Woods 590 (assuming the stock cam isn't already in the 580-range), however, have seen 'vibration' reports on the 590...thoughts?
Lastly, any suggestions on the install (of the 585)? I've read the install is relatively simple, basically a PNP. I'm not an engine mechanic, although, I am familiar with a set of wrenches.
I've seen others report higher TQ with the 585, just curious if I should upgrade or stand content with current power/reliability.
The bike pulls hard...especially compared to anything from a MoCo LBS. Startability - never sees 'enrichener' except below 60 degrees. MPG - in the low to mid-40's. Really, no complaints...just want what most all of us do - more power.
