What’s wrong:

Front cylinder engine stud was stripped. It had a helicoil on it which failed. I had paid a local shop to rebuild the engine a few years ago (about 3500 miles) and apparently they stripped the stud. I replaced it with a Time-sert. I screwed up and it is off by about 2-3 degrees. The proper way to fix this is to tear down the motor and replace or repair the case. I am not interested in doing that right now, but may if no one buys it.

The front cylinder has a cracked fin. While it was off the motor, I bumped it and it cracked. See Pictures. This corner would be hidden by the pipes. Repair, replace or just run as is.

The motor is an S&S 107 ****NO CUSTOM PARTS ARE NEEDED FOR FIX******

The good:

Wow this was a great bike up to this point. A lot of popular mods have already been made.

- The EHC (which is the glass jaw of Big Dogs) was replaced early with a Wire-Plus harness. This has proven to be bullet proof.
- Tires both have good thread and look great.
- Paint is PERFECT!
- Brakes are good.
- It has a 40 amp 3-phase charging system
- New battery
- Borget pipes
- Throttle lock
- Red LED lights
- Hi visibility LED Headlight

I have a few nice accessories for the bike. If someone pays the full price $6,000, I will throw them in. If not, I will keep them and sell them separately. Sorry, I won’t sell them separately until the bike is sold

- Passenger seat
- Tall Sissy bar
- Luggage rack
- Big Dog Bag for Sissy Bar
- A few extra misc. parts and pieces.

I purchased it in 2008 and was told that I was the second owner. I bought it at Borget Bike Works (Chopper Zoo) in Ft Lauderdale and rode it back to Cincinnati.

- Clean clear Kentucky Title. Kentucky purchaser could get the CHOPR Tag with title transfer.

So...question. If the timesert was drilled and installed at the wrong angle wouldn't the whole motor have to be pulled out and has the case fixed? If it can?

So it went from a head gasket leaking to all this? Looks like you should have traded to in like you were going to.

Yep says you need to fix it or replace the case and the jug, although originally I did read the add wrong I thought it was just the jug that was needing replacement.

Really at the cost of a case and jugs you might just look at dropping in a 124

Hi guys - Sorry for the delay in responses. It is hard to get on the site while at work. I apologize if my original ad was not very clear. I will try to add some details.

What I see needs to be done to fix it.

1. Pull the motor and disassemble it down to the case.

Then your options are:

A. Take it to a machine shop. Have them weld it, redrill and tap for the cylinder stud. I do not know how much this would cost.

B. Buy a new case. I did a quick search and it looks like a case with gaskets was about just under $1,200 - I see this as the most expensive realistic option.

C. Find a used case.

D. Send it to S&S and have them remanufacture the engine. No idea what that would cost.

E. Buy a bigger motor and install it - Sell off the parts from this one.

2. The jug is damaged on one of the fins. I am the type who would have this either repaired (machine / welding shop) or replaced. That being said, I have seen engines run with damage like this, and it have no effect on the performance. The area will be hidden by the pipes so you would have to look for it.

Liferider - No kidding. This started with a leaking head gasket. I would love have run it through that auction!!!!

Frank - Yep - bad week. I should have taken the trade in offer, but I wanted to have the bike in perfect shape at the time. It has been an expensive week. If anyone is wondering, I had talked to a local dealer who would give me $7,500. With the sales tax credit, I would be netting a little shy of $8K.

If you have any other question, please let me know. Again - Cell phone is the best 859-801-8182. If I don't answer, chances are I am in a meeting so just leave a message, and I will call you back. Text is okay too.

Thanks!

still did not answer me
is it pulled apart? is it running but leaking? did you try and assemble it with the studd at the wrong angle? or what

It is pulled apart - not running. I can leave it as is for someone to inspect or put back together without the one cylinder stud and not tighten the head down to make it easier for someone to transport.
