My 2004 chopper is stalling when hot and I'm taking off from a stop. Replaced EHC and adjusted the carb. Any suggestions?

check for lose connections on the ehc,,& or battery,, check for lose ground... use dyaletric grease in the connections,, if you still got a problem check all electrical connections.. including key switch,, & hand control switches.. if it shuts off then restarts sounds like lose connections to me...

Just not understanding why a loose connection would only "happen" when bike is hot and accelerating from a stop. seems to me like the engine is just not getting fuel for the that split second and is stalling. For whatever that is worth. I'm by no means an expert...

Well if it only happens when it's hot and accelerating then sounds like your gas cap is not venting.

it could be ..but before you screw with carb adjustments,, check electrical conections.. & if it is the carb usually it will just stumble then recover,, a elect,, issue will cause it to shut completly off.. it will probbly get worse .. after you check all elect.. connections then I would start with the carb.. maybe.. the last thing you did was ehc,, then it started,, always keep it simple.. go back to the last thing you did before it started running bad,,,

this is true,,, but it should restart & run fine if you losen the fuel cap,, good call ray.. when it happens losen fuel cap if it has a vaccum your on the right track....

would an engine stall release built up pressure in the fuel system? That's why it fires up immediately when turned over?
when it does it losen fuel cap.. does air rush in??? like a vacumm,,, I dont much think of a vaccum as I bought a cutom billet fuel cap from low down chop shop.. I never have that problem anymore..

Electrical System Failure Issue! (Something May Be Tripping Internal EHC Bus Fuse) :bang:

Check "everything", wires, connectors, battery strength (load test) and connections. :2thumbs:

Add dielectric grease to "every" connection! :2thumbs:

If you don't find what's ailing the dog, PM me Monday and I'll be glad to help! :2thumbs:

dead

Is it simply "stalling" as in you start to take off and you just loose power and the engine "stalls" or does it feel like you simply turned the key off. After this incident do you attempt to start it up again immediately or do you wait for 5 or 10 and then start it back up.

There has been some past issues with the cam sensor heating up. If your pipes are close to the cam cover you might want to check this out.
