Well guys,
3 years ago my left directional stopped turning off after 10 flashes. Last year my break lights stopped working. This year I lost all the lights on the speedo. I've been getting ready for this by having both the Wire Plus, and the Thunder Heart ignition and harness replacement from Wild Steed Worx sitting in my garage. I also had a brand new big dog EHC which was suppose to be for a 2003, but ended up as the replacement for a 2002 and older Thunder Hearts.

Since I had two new EHCs the actual Thunder Heart, and the replacement from Big Dog, I went with that option over doing the wire plus. A very good friend and Harley / custom bike mechanic of mine put it in for me. Everything is working and I'm back in business again. The instructions from Curtis worked great and it looks better then the stock wiring, thanks to Hank at D'Vision Cycles and Fabracation of Dover NH.

I can't say for sure about the Wire Plus unit, but I am with Bill on this one :agree:, from what I have read and heard about them it is a pain in the ass! :oldbang: That being said, I also am not sure about your Thunder Heart replacement kit either, I am assuming that it is the R.I.P. replacement kit your referring to, I decided to go with DOC's ESC and could not be happier! It actually surpassed my expectations of it, great product! Anyway, good to hear your back up and running and enjoying your bike again Bill! :old2::cheers:

Of course, now that my bike is fixed, the drought is over for the next few days in NH, as its raining. All MY FAULT........

The Kit was actually a Thunder Heart ASM 4250-D Ignition control with a custom harness from Curtis at Wild Steed Worx. The kit has an extra relay for the starter. His instructions were very easy to follow, and everything dropped right in. I still have the Wire Plus kit, and will hang on to it just in case, but after looking at the two, it was much easier to go with the new Thunder Heart then re-wire the bike with the Wire Plus.

Here is a link to some of the issues others have had with the wire plus. I didn't want to take all that time to install WP and have to go through issues again.

You got lucky my friend.... very lucky....
I suppose. But I did the install myself. I didnt wanna pay somebody to fk it up. I do that by myself for free.....lol. I did have an issue or two at first but as always, it turned out to be operator error...also WP is just down the road so talking face to face is easier. Got my fingers crossed.....

My 05 ehc shit the bed and im not sure which one to go with. Where can i get one from Docs? Never heard of that one. Big Dog of Kansas has one to drop right it. Either way, theyre all 5-600 bucks. Id rather go the easier route if its gonna cost the same. Mine shorted out on the way to work at 10pm. Everything went dead. It killed my new battery and i had to walk 3 miles home!

I bought repl ehc and harness kit from kansas motorcycle works after much debate on the cost. This supposedly is the stragglers from original Big Dog company. Paid almost 700 bucks over phone with 4 day priority mail. That was a week ago. Cant contact, no one answers my call, no e mail receipt or tracking number. Of course it was deducted from my account. I think im screwed!

I don't think your screwed, but it does take them awhile to get back to you, could be weeks, not very good customer service. Not that this helps you but I ran into another guy today that put in a RIP -2 and can't get the bike running or any answers from the phone. I went with an ESC from DOC's and if he doesn't answer the phone because he's on it, he will call you back ASAP, within 20 minutes, excellent customer service.:old2::old2:

Well, the poor guys there have an unfortunate problem.....too much business, not enough help. Give em a minute. If you can leave a message, by all means do. If you haven't heard anything by next week, drop me a pm with ur nfo and i will personally make a trip to the shop. And on top of that....Sturgis.

I agree and IF you did a search you would know that. The last thing you want is more problems than you already have....

So... the boys at kansas motorcycle works took your money, don't answer the phone, don't send a tracking email.... What happens when the kit doesn't work? IF it even gets there...

Glad I'm not you.... Sorry bro hope it works out....

Agree ...nobody is getting screwed here. They will send it maybe a little slower than you'd like.
