I don't think your screwed, but it does take them awhile to get back to you, could be weeks, not very good customer service. Not that this helps you but I ran into another guy today that put in a RIP -2 and can't get the bike running or any answers from the phone. I went with an ESC from DOC's and if he doesn't answer the phone because he's on it, he will call you back ASAP, within 20 minutes, excellent customer service.:old2::old2:
Ker, what's the issue here?

It's gotta be user install issue. I installed the RIP gen1 and it's pretty simple I had a 1 page document for instructions which I basically threw in the trash. I will admit the really annoying part about the RIP kit is they changed the wire color from stock which I can't understand. Although they are labeled .

I don't like at all how the Run/Off button works on the RIP kit otherwise everything else is as expected.

I agree and IF you did a search you would know that. The last thing you want is more problems than you already have....

So... the boys at kansas motorcycle works took your money, don't answer the phone, don't send a tracking email.... What happens when the kit doesn't work? IF it even gets there...

Glad I'm not you.... Sorry bro hope it works out....
Bill you were just so nice the other day.

He isn't getting a screwed and any competent person can install it.

I don't know what the problem is. I offered to go down to the guys motorcycle shop and work with one of his mechanics to trouble shoot, the owner of the shop told me he was done with the bike after 2 months, So I told him to say something to the owner and see if he wants me to bring it to my house and I can go over it, so at this point I don't have a clue what is wrong with it. I think he has the RIP 2 but is talking about sending it back and going with DOC's ESC cause no one answers the phone when he calls and they don't get back to them.
I'm only repeating what the owner of the shop told me. :oldconfused: but I really what to get into it if the owner wants me to.:whoop:

Any MC shop with some competence should be able to figure it out themselves If I can do it in my 400 sq ft garage.

2 months? That shop doesn't work On BD often then.

I hope you got the owners number. You can bench test the RIP unit to track down issues by jumping pins it's not hard. But I bet it's installed wrong rather than issues with the unit.

When we rode down to the hill country Shannon, Rick and I ended up drinking with this guy on an old panhead that was staying next to us he apparently owns an MC shop in my area he was just bitching about the electronics on big dogs. Just blows my mind its not rocket science.

:yesnod: :yesnod: and that seems to be the same with this shop, the one mechanic said he has an 04' Chopper but it hasn't run for 2 years, he said ya can't get parts and a key switch is $75, I told him to go over to TS and get a tractor switch, it fits in the hole and its 2 wire, $15. They both had a weird look on their faces, I left my name and number and told them to call me if they wanted to. I was riding mine at the time, I said I don't have any problems:oldlaugh: fired up and took off :whoop::chopper:

Wow. I would question the ability of that bike shop. My friend who owns the bike shop I went to, who replaced my EHC, took one look at my parts, and said it would be a breeze to replace. He uses the Thunder Heart EHC all the time. He even liked the idea of the extra relay which I believe was for the starter. Took him about 3 hours, and everything looks stock. With the BDM wiring diagram, and the wiring diagram from Curtis, it went easy, and quickly.
