Well I guess that is a good thing. I read about the weld that could crack. And this one is 10K... more miles though.
10K miles is nothing!!!! These bikes will handle the millage. If I could I would run over from Shreveport and look at it with you. To ease your mind. Get the vin# and call Big Dog Products and ask them to run the number to verify the frame was upgraded. If yes. It's your call. But I would not let this one go. But I am partial to this year and model!

That is more along the lines of the price I was thinking. Right around 10K would be a good deal for a 2003 depending on miles and goodies..........

I was thinking so as well... and comes with a set of dumps! Also being plain black I could have it pin striped.

Just a thought on the black one. It may not sound as "tough" with the 2:1 that's on it in the picture, but the 2:1 will give you the back pressure you need and run like an SOB... Both good looking bikes. I know you can always throw an offer at Dream Machines and they will deal a little. That said, if you like the style of the '03 chopper, I'd go look at both real quick and decide which sounds like it runs better and which paint you like better. Everything else is just maintenance and upgrade. Pretty much guarantee you would spend at least 2x on a new HD and still not get the looks you will on either of these :D

I think I will... the black one comes with short dumps... they should sound good no? As for riding, I am not a "go fast" guy.

Yep the sort pipes will sound good. You will probably need to look at re-jetting the carb if you run those. Plenty of threads on here about that. You will also probably get a lot more popping especially on decel. Again, threads on here about that. Definitely doable, just be aware you might have some tuning to do. Could be why the 2:1 is back on it for the sale.

BDM Products Phone # 316-267-9121. Also remember, Strokers Dallas is in your back yard. For wrenching you might think is beyond your means, call Amy & the gang!

Another important item is that Big Dog used two different frames on the Choppers in '03. They had a Daytec (DT) and Rolling Thunder (RT) frame. Find out which one if you buy it. Some parts, like the Fender Struts that accept the sissy bar, have a different offset. RT does not crossover to the DT on parts like that.
