Hello. I just picked up a 2003 Big Dog Chopper, and the clutch is very hard to pull in and takes a lot of effort to shift. It has Ultima 6 speed in it. Any ideas on if these issues are related, or what the issue might be?

It may just need to be adjusted. I'm not a gear head by any means. Just something I would check into.

Well it came with a Baker tranny so until you pull the primary and check out the clutch and everything you won't be able to get much help here. Could be something as simple as your cluth cable and lever need some lube!

Clutch Diaphragm may be heavy duty (harder pull) in regards to ultima trans...the couple I have riden were hard shifting.....Like Ray said it may be as simple as lubing the cable...start with the easy stuff.....keep us posted :2thumbs:

I will definitely do that. I am new to this site. I just bought the bike and are seeing a couple problems/concerns with the bike (like the tranny) and am thinking I maybe should have passed on it. I am coming off of an 04 Harley and was rearended and it got totalled so I thought I would try something different. By the way, I am waiting on my manual to come in (ordered from local dealer), but was wondering if anyone had the 03 wiring schematic they could send me as now my brake lights stay on solid, so I gotta trace that problem. Thanks for all the help guys!
