2 up seat, or pillion pad?

I'm probably going to be setting up my bike to take a passenger, and was wondering from a passenger standpoint which is more comfortable on a Ridgeback, a 2 up seat, or pillion pad? I won't be installing a sissy bar, not real crazy about changing the look of my bike as it is.

Also as far as the fender, is the 2 up easier on the finish than a pillion pad? I really don't want to install the film on the fender, but will if I have to. Thanks.

Just make sure you clean the fender and suction cups, I have my waxed pretty good and Have only small marks that disappear with the wax. Making sure it is clean is the best. You have 4 to 6 suction cups on the P-pad and only 2 on the 2-up, so if it does make marks I would rather have 2 than 6.

As far as comfort I have been told by most of the riders that I have put on the back like the 2-up more than the p-pad. I only had one girl that like that like the p-pad better, guess she had too much padding back there.:spank:

I have both and you are going to get wear marks from the suction cups no matter what you do.

The P-pad has 6 cups and the two up seat has only 2.
Two up seat is way more comfortable to the passenger than the p-pad.

Feel the same way with the finish on the fender-like many have said make sure alot of polish on fender. My wife says she would rather have the 2 up seat than p pad. 2 up seat keeps its shape better than the p pad according to her. She is about 5'11" and 145 lbs. As for the ride it seems to calm down the back tire(guess she takes all the rough bumps out :roll:) So if she is happy I will be happy!! 2 up for me!

Thanks phatchopper300, we have the same bike, so that's good to know, and the chick that wants to ride is the same size as your wife, looks like the 2 up will be the better choice.

Thanks guys for the input, sounds like everyone leans toward the 2 up seat. Also I think having two suction cups will be better than four to six on the pillion, sounds like it will be a little easier on the paint. And roger that on keeping the fender clean, and waxes as well as the suction cups.

Thanks again everyone, I appreciate the input.:2thumbs:

 Thanks Mikie, I knew I could count on you buddy. She is a friend of mine, one of the flight attendants at my airline. I'm going to have the passenger bracket, and pegs installed this winter when I get the springer put on, so not till next spring.

I am going to get the P-pad. As often as the Ole Lady wants to ride, I don't need to spend $250 + for a two up. Plus I like the way it looks with the single seat. I won't keep the pad on unless she wants to ride. Hell, I have had her out on just the fender (I told her it is the worlds best vibrator) Now don't get me wrong, we didn't go too far! I will just make sure to wax the hell out of it, and watch the suction cups don't mark.

My 2 up seat only has 2 suction cups and the edges of the seat are making contact with the fender. :bang:

I do not carry many passangers, just a duffle bag or two...

My 03 Chopper has the 2-up seat and I love it. I changed out the rear fender struts to be able to have a sissy bar. This way I can take the sissy bar off, if I want that look or leave it on. It's just allen screws that allow removal.

I also use the sissy bar to strap things too, if I need to carry anything. Works out great and looks good too, in my opinion.

I still have the old struts out in the garage. I might put them up on e-Bay.

Guys,
just impose a weight and age limit for your passengers : not more than 125 lbs and not older than 30 and I promise you, there will be no mark on the fender ...........:roll::roll::roll:

My 03 came with both the Big Dog solo and the 2 up seat that has 4 suction cups. I make it a point to clean the fender really well before I install the 2 up seat and other then very minor scratches in the wax which polish out, you would never know one has been on.
As far as the comfort level, I have had several laddies on the back and they all enjoyed the ride. :2thumbs:
