I scraped my first pegs today. I've had my K9 for about 4 months and put about the 800th mile on her today. In this tight, 3rd gear curve I vowed I'd just push harder instead of slowing down.
Unfortunately I scraped the right peg and the bottom of the V&H pipes at the same time. I admit the bottom of that pipe was already crimped, so I wasn't the first one to go that far.....Thankfully it was not as scary as I thought it might be. It made some noise but was uneventful otherwise.
OTOH, I just got her back 3 days ago and welding the support bracket was one of the repairs. I was dreading breaking it again on the very first ride, but the bracket seems OK for now.
How do people cope with this ?
Get different pipes and increase the range on the right ?
Other ideas (other than slow down) ?
