Good afternoon,
I purchased some +10” fork tubes with the guts from you, for my 04 BD Chopper. I pulled the forks and took them to certified HD tech to install. It started as fork seals leaking but my tech found gouges in my old tubes below the seals. That was the reason for me ordering the tubes with new internals after my order for new seal kits w/ all nee clips & bushings. After he did his part I reinstalled the front end and torqued everything to specs. The concern I have is the forks will only compress about 2” under a load. When I riding at about 20mph and apply my front brake they compress about 2” and I can not get anymore travel before the brake locks up. My original forks would compress much farther and road much softer/smoother. These only compress when I grab a handful of frt brake but want to deflect more on bumps and our crappy roads compared to what it road like before replacing everything.
The tech that swapped the tubes said all he can think of is maybe the new springs are different (heavier) than the original springs that were replaced?
Can you offer any help with this, thank you.
