Update: Oh we ordered a new EHC from KMW, followed the enclosed instructions, and 5 hours later, the bike fired right up.
I did run into a few things people should know about.
1. Not all the wires were the same color, but it wasn't hard to figure out where they went.
2. This is where I think some people may have run into problems in the past, and you need to check carefully. I found one plug, that when they put the wires in it, they broke the little tang that holds the wire connector in the plug, and it pushed out when I plugged it together. I know the tangs were straight before I plugged it in.
3. removing the right shock, makes it a lot easier to get the wiring loom back on, and strapped to the frame.
4. when strapping the wires to the back bone, think streamline. You have to be creative to get them to lay in there good.
5. the bolts that held the old EHC in place, unscrew out of the module, then you will two 10-32 machine screws to screw into them to hold the new bracket in place.
All in all, it is a really nice unit, and all the switches work as the should.
Nothing like last minute repairs, before heading out for BBBBQ in the morning.
