3rd. Update
It would appear that I have stirred up quite a bit on this forum. To start with I have been on this forum since I purchased the bike in 06 and I apologize for no introduction. I have been on a lot of forums, H.D. Corvette and Viper and was never asked for an intro. I raced Corvettes for almost 10 years and then I went to a Viper. I do all my own engine work on this car and if I was just trying to stir up shit I would not have posted my email address. This motor was broke in exactly the way Big Dog recommended and not one time has it ever been over revved or run hard. I have a 72 Shovel that I built from the ground up and won a number of trophies with back in the 80s and it is still running strong. I had to hand build every part on it and it is a full custom. When I can I will post a history of the bike along with pictures of the motor. The shop that is doing the work is the only one in the Phoenix area that is authorized to work on Big Dog. Hacienda Harley Davidson. This motor never once hit the rev limiter. This is exactly what the dealership wrote on the repair order. "During Disassembly of engine the Tech found that the head of the exhaust valve in the rear cylinder broke off inside the combustion chamber. possibly from the exhaust valve guide breaking causing the valve to shift and snap the head of the valve off. There is damage to the intake valve, combustion chamber and piston due to the valve head beating around the combustion chamber. Recommend replacing the entire engine due to the force the engine flywheel assembly and connecting rods incurred during piston seizure. Found metal shavings in the intake and oil. Because there was metal found in intake and oil, tech recommend replacing oil lines and oil cooler as well. Motor from S&S $8,112.10. R& R engine 6 hours at $537.00 R&R oil cooler and lines, $89.50. Parts subtotal $355.00."
I did not in any way intend to offend anyone by saying the bike was a piece of shit. Big Dog stood behind every issue I had with the bike for 2 years. There was a lot of issues that caused a lot of down time. I am trying to answer as many questions as have been posted and that was not a spam post. Read the update I posted on 12/15. I really don't appreciate being called an asshole by some dumb shit that can't read. This was not the first time I have posted here asshole. I posted a number of times asking questions and helping other bikers out. I have the equipment and the know how to rebuild this motor but why should I when I paid for the extended coverage on it. Let the goddamn insurance co. deal with it. I don't give a shit how much the dealer want's to charge but it will be a 124 inch motor when it is replaced . I have 2 other bikes to ride so I don't give a damn how long it takes. The point I was trying to make is that the engine should have gone a hell of a lot more the 12k before it blew.
