04 chopper won’t start

I’ve been searching the threads the past couple days before I posted this to make sure the info wasn’t already on here. It still may be but I could not find anything to help me. So anyway here’s my problem. I have an 04 chopper. I recently put a new harness on to try and fix my electrical problems. I also bought a new battery today and put it in. After I put the harness on everything worked and came on. Now my head light comes on but nothing at the tach. Sometimes the bike will turn over. Sometimes I just hear the compression bulbs click. I’ve checked connections on connectors. Everything seems to be hooked up and tight. Where can I go from here?

Could be a cold solder joint on the tach board? Is it just your tach that doesn't work?

Looks like the oem 2004 EHC. Is it just the head light nothing else no turn, horn or brake lights?

Do you have a good Ohm meter?

I have headlight high and low beam turn signals and horn. I have the egg conector off testing the power pins. I found those diagrams you sent on another site. Also the only two lights that light up when the harness is plugged in are the one in the picture and the light under it is blinking

Did you just replace the main backbone harness like I did or all the wiring? Make sure your connector on the EHC is down the whole way.

Sorry to hear about your problems. Sounds very similar to what i went thru years ago. Thanks for the better picture of the EHC. It is not a 2004 but a newer one 2005-2008 with a adapter board on top to fit the 2004 plug. Take that board off and clean all the pins.

Nothing on the guage comes on. When I first put harness on everything did work and come on.
I know you said you checked all the connections but you may have a loose pin in the jst connections. This happened on my pitbull it appeared the all connections were good but after light pulling on the wire the pin came completely out of the jst connection .

Additionally, what were you electrical problems before replacing the harness ?
Also , did you verify that you have the correct wiring harness for your bike (year/model)?
